April Meeting - The Make Up Station

April 10, 2013 Balham WI 0 Comments

Our April meeting was a great success thanks to a visit from Sinead and the ladies from The Makeup Station in Clapham Junction. No longer are we terrified of our make up bags, or afraid to go out of the house because of wonky eyeliner. The talented ladies talked us through the art of the 'flicky-eye' and the smokey eye, the best eyeliners, brushes and bronzers to use, showed us how to use blusher and highlighter, and gave us lots of advice about our nails. They even removed some of our unwanted facial hair via the method of threading. All Wandsworth WI members were given a one off 50% discount voucher, if you didn't get yours and you are a paid up WI member, just let them know and you will receive the discount anyway. They are based at the St Johns Hill exit of Clapham Junction station -http://www.themakeupstation.co.uk/
This was also our first meeting in our new venue, The New Bar at the Bedford, and it was a great success. We have our own private bar, so remember you are very welcome to arrive early and have food and drinks before the meeting. Several of our members brought along some of their amazing home baking, and it would be great to make this a regular thing - if you are ever keen to bring something along, please do!
A sign up sheet for the next cake sale (18 May at Hildreth Street Market) has gone out - if you weren't at the meeting and would like to bake something, or help on the stall let us know or sign up at next months meeting. We will be able to collect baked goods on the days leading up to the sale if you're not able to drop them off on the morning.
We had several new attendees at our meeting last night which was fantastic, if last night was your first meeting and you're keen to join, please send us an email and we will forward you all the relevant info. If you haven't been to a meeting before, drop us a line too and we will let you know all the details of our next meeting.
See you in May!
